Now a major motion picture!

Ok, maybe not "major," but I've been in the process of making my acting debut this weekend. A friend of mine is a film student at UGA, and he asked me to play the female love interest in a short film he's making. I'm supposed to be "110 pounds of sunshine, with just a hint of sadness behind those big brown eyes." I guess I can pull that off, even if I am five pounds overweight for the role...?

Also, I've finished all of my Christmas shopping. Every lick of it, right down to the 3-foot artificial tree I bought myself Saturday morning and the giant bag of wrapping paper and bows and gift tags I picked up Saturday night. Damn, I am such an overachiever--I usually don't even start my holiday shopping until about a week and a half before the big day!

In other news, I had a very nice dinner with ex-boy's parents last night. They just called me up out of the blue, said they were in town, and asked if I wanted to go out to dinner with them. We ate at a delicious Italian restaurant downtown, and somehow, it was just like old times. The only difference between dinner last night and all the other dinners I joined them for in the past was ex-boy's absence. But I felt just as comfortable with them as I always have, despite not seeing them for five months, and it was really good spending time with them again.

I love ex-boy's parents a lot, and I'm glad they love me too--by the time he and I broke up, I'd grown almost as attached to them as I had to him. When he and I were together, I looked forward to them being my in-laws; now that we're broken up, I'm glad they're still my family.
